Cute Things Annika Says (Part Fourteen)

Annika and Abigail are playing shopgirl.

Annika:  Um, did YOU sell me this helicopter comb?
Abigail:  Yes.
Annika:  It doesn't work on my son's hair.  Could you show me how to do it?

It might lose something in the translation of reading versus listening to it, but I had to laugh!

Cute things Abigail says (Part Seven)

We've been so blessed to have my best friend and her little family here this week.  They are in the process of adopting the CUTEST little boy (well, maybe second cutest next to Tyler) and brought him down so we could meet him.

Baby Owen is almost 9 months old and the most social baby I have ever seen.  He is IN LOVE with the girls and they are so good with him too!  Tyler isn't quite sure what to make of him, but I'm positive that when they're older, they're going to be the best of friends.

Owen hasn't been sleeping very well during the night since he's been here, and Abigail and I were talking about it one morning.

Abigail:  Why did Baby Owen cry in the night?
Me:  I'm not sure, maybe he was hungry or just really tired and couldn't get back to sleep.
Abigail:  That's not it.  He's crying because he misses his Abigail.

There might be some truth to it too.  She went in with Chantal to get him from his nap yesterday, and I guess his whole fact lit up in the biggest smile you could imagine.  He sure likes her.

A memory

I remember being a little girl going to school and not being happy with getting up in the morning.  Especially in the middle of winter, when it was still dark out.

I remember on very special days, for no reason at all, waking up to the smell of blueberry muffins baking in the oven and knowing that today was going to be a good day because we were going to have a special breakfast.  (Thanks Moogie.)

My kids are getting cinnamon buns tomorrow morning.  I hope they remember it in 20+ years too.

Saturday Snapshot ~ Playing with Lego

It's been a while since I've shown Saturday pictures!  This past week, Annika and I had a "lego date".  She got some really nifty lego from Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas, so we set it up and played!

Annika is slowly learning how to follow the pictures and put things together.  We even made some stuff from our imagination, which she thought was pretty cool too.  "Mom, I didn't know you could just make stuff without a plan!"

Annika's group of things made by her - from left to right:
  • a desk and chair
  • a bed
  • a flat screen TV
  • a little house
  • a wagon for her horse to pull

I made her a house.  She was quite impressed.

The cat

It was my birthday on Saturday.  My mother gave me a manicure/pedicure.  The only catch was I had to have it done the same time as her.  Just kidding, it was fun to have girl time with her.  She's a nice Mom.  The place where we go to get this done did not have two manicurists on at the same time on the days that Clark was off.  So, I booked our mani/pedi on a day that he was working and took a chance that my great friend Ashley would answer her phone when I called and begged asked very nicely if she would watch two cute girls and a cute boy that would possibly cry the whole time I was gone.  Surprisingly, she said yes.  I also owe her A LOT of babysitting in return.

Ashley has a kitten.  Her name is Copper.  She is adorable.  And a bundle of energy.  When I went to pick the kids up, Abigail scooped up all of Copper's toy balls that had bells in them and said "I'm taking these home for 'Bastian."  I told her we couldn't take Copper's toys, but we would buy some at the store the next day so she could play with him.  I had a very happy girl at Wal-Mart today.

I asked Ashley to take a video of Copper playing with her bell filled ball so you could then compare it to what happened when we did the same thing with Sebastian.

I think I need a new cat, this one's broken.

What you've all been waiting for

I guess all we needed was a somewhat empty bedroom and a Minnie Mouse microphone!
